Dear Parents,

Unfortunately, I need to notify you that Grant Middle School will be switching to a full remote platform on Tuesday, March 2nd. We will return students to the building on Monday, March 15th. I was notified today of a positive case in the building and the contact tracing impacts a large number of our staff. There are no students impacted by contact trace at this time. It is with an abundance of caution that we are making this decision and please know that like every other adjustment we have made this year, it is with student and staff health being a priority.

Students should have their chromebooks at home with them. If they do not, please contact your teacher or the office and we will make arrangements to get it to you.

Illini Elementary students will remain in person. The case only impacts the middle school.

BASSC programs will remain in-person.

Extra-curricular activities (basketball and bowling) will be cancelled for this period.

Lunches will be available for curbside pick up. Please use the existing remote procedure for ordering lunch.

I know this has been a difficult year for all of us and COVID has caused many quick changes to happen. I want to thank you in advance for your understanding and your flexibility as we make another adjustment.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

M. Stines
