Registration & Remote Update
Please make sure you get on-line at Teacher Ease and register for school no later than July 27. We need to get classes created for all learning options.
This afternoon, the IL State Board released 103 pages of new guidance for reopening schools. There will be updates to our plans coming. One change which many of you asked about, is that the requirement for the Dr. note to go remote has been removed.
I will get updates to our plans out soon. Thank you for all of your patience as the guidance, rules, numbers, and phases all change daily during this pandemic.
Sincerely,
M. Stines

We are thrilled that we will be able to get kids back to school in the Fall !!
Yesterday afternoon, the State Board released guidance on returning to school in the Fall, under the Phase 4 guidelines. We have been planning for a variety of scenarios the last couple of months, and with guidance we can solidify plans.
Tomorrow, June 25th, look for an email from the district asking for you to complete a survey about returning to school. We want your input! Your voice is a vital part of finalizing plans.
Next week, on June 30th, we have a district task force which will be meeting to work through the State guidelines, CDC reccomendations, and community input to finalize our District Plan for returning to school.
My hope is that by the end of next week, July 2nd or 3rd, we will be able to make our plan available to all of you.

Edmund worked very well with his peers and was respectful towards adults. He enjoyed mastering all of his multiplication facts and reading good books as well. Edmund always came to school with a smile on his face and eager to discover something new! It has truly been a pleasure having him in my class, this year!

During distance learning, Roman worked hard and completed his school work, participated in all of the class Zoom meetings, and maintained a positive attitude. I wanted to share that Kevin Ponciroli, a Pediatrician with A to Z Pediatrics, is offering assistance to kids by allowing them to come in for a one-time physical without changing their primary care location. All insurance is accepted including Medicaid plans. To be seen, they require an up to date shot record to be brought in.

Also, Dental safari will be coming to Grant and Illini in January 2021. I encourage all students to use this service, and as a reminder, all students in Kindergarten, 2nd, and 6th grade require a dental exam due May 15th of that school year.
These dental exams must be done within 18 months of the due date, so if your student will be entering one of these grades this coming year (2020) or the following school year (2021), this date will cover the requirement.

Mrs. Lasley

Illini Parents:
For some of you at this point it is like the end of winter break. The time together was nice, but let’s face it, it can be exhausting. The honeymoon is over and some of you might be struggling a bit. Remember we are here. Need a call from the principal to discuss a lack of wanting to attempt to try the work? Need a video chat with me or Ms Davis to talk about concerns you or your students are having? Maybe your student has a birthday and you’d like us to call or come by and sing Happy Birthday to your child in the driveway(a good 6 ft away promise). Maybe your child has been doing really great or worked hard on a difficult task and you would like a certificate of recognition sent from us in the mail.
Just know we are here to support you. We know your job as a parent was hard enough before this pandemic, and we understand the need for support now. I am just an email away. Feel free to reach out.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lasley
