Good Afternoon All,

This afternoon, the Governor issued a 'shelter in place' order which will go into effect tomorrow. He also stated that schools will be closed through April 7, with a tentative return date of April 8. It is certainly our hope to return on April 8, but I think we all need to assume that this could go on longer. I say this because states like Kansas, Wisconsin, and Conneticut have already announced their closure will go through the reminder of the year.

As we move forward, there are three areas we will continue to focus on:

1. We will continue to feed our children. I want to say a huge thank you to all of our staff who helped to turn our lunch program mobile in such a short period of time. Also, thank you to all of our parents who have been so understanding as we work through logistics and have graciously offered to help. We will continue to provide meals for our kiddos.

2. We will communicate. Through all of these rapidly changing times, we have strived very hard to keep you informed regarding everything going on. We will continue to do that. While I know there are a lot of questions to be answered as the pandemic goes long term, we will do our best to provide you the highest quality information we can.

3. Continue educational opportunities. So many of you have done an incredible job of providing school for your kids while they have been at home. It has been great to see pictures of our kiddos working on projects at the kitchen table. Keep sharing those! We will continue to provide resources and continue to improve how we do distance learning into the foreseeable future. One piece I want everyone to feel assured with is to do the best you can! We are all doing the best we can in these challenging times.

As we get through the next few weeks, know that we are all thinking of you, we miss seeing our kiddos everyday, and most of all we want everyone to stay as safe as possible!

Sincerely,

M Stines
