February 15 is national SRO appreciation day. Here at Grant and Illini we have one of the best! Officer Jeff Hinson does a great job of making our students and staff feel safe every day. He takes time to talk to the students in the lunchroom and hallways. He also teaches the DARE program to our 5th graders to help them make smart choices. Thank you Officer Hinson! We appreciate you!

Grant is doing awesome in the Wolfbranch Wrestling Tourney. Congratulations to Jude and Kyron for their victories. First 3 matches for Grant, victories!

First ever Grant Middle School wrestling match won starting at the Wolfbranch Tournament! Congrats Edmund

7th and 8th grade SEL classes wrote positive messages inside of origami. We have left them in the multi-purpose room for anyone to take when they need a little 'pick-me-up'

January's word of the month was Service. During Character Education time, Miss Stock's sixth graders came up with service project ideas and voted to help the homeless. We put together bags with items the students deemed necessary to help those in need. Each student then wrote a letter of encouragement to add into the bag! Officer Hinson graciously offered to keep the bags in the Fairview Heights patrol cars when our original organization fell through. Students wanted to make sure their efforts were going straight to members of our community in need, so we cannot thank him enough! 💜

Thank you Steven Kramer from St Louis College of Pharmacy American Sign Language Club for coming to speak with the GMS sign language club!

Ms. Thompson's seventh grade English Language Arts students chose a well-known champion for equality to research and created products to present to their classmates.
