First and Fourth Grade challenge students launched pom poms with their newly constructed slingshots. They measured, calculated, and recorded their three trial launches. We also had fun trying to hit a target!

I am pleased to inform you that Mary Riley of Grant Middle School has been selected for the Emerson's 2022 Excellent in Teaching Award. Mary Riley is among more than 80 teachers from across the St. Louis metropolitan area who are being recognized this year. If you know Mary, you will agree she is more than worthy of this award. Congratulations to this months Extra Mile Award Winners at Illini, Ms. Brockmeyer and Ms. Claxton.



Illini challenge students have been learning about potential and kinetic energy. They made slingshot out of popsicle sticks and rubber bands. Stay tuned…next week we will be launching projectiles (pom poms) of various sizes and measuring the distance.




Mrs Schuetz and Ms Bair’s second grade classes earned a free choice day for their great behavior.
