No School - Monday, February 21, 2022

2/17/2022
At tonight’s Special Board meeting, a motion was made to adjust Grant 110’s procedures regarding COVID mitigations to align with recent legal changes. The School Board voted to being a mask optional policy, but does still recommend masks as a good practice until we are completely through the pandemic. Starting tomorrow, February 18th, masks will be optional for students and staff. The district will still utilize strategies for limiting the spread, like social distancing, assigned seating, and encouraging regular handwashing. A copy of our updated planning guide can be found on the district website.

2/17 The weather forecast has adjusted some from last night. We will stay with our normal dismissal times. After school activities are cancelled. We ask that LatchKey be picked up no later than 4:00pm. Parents, if you would like to pick up your child early, you are welcome to do so.

ILLINI will stay in school all day today, 2/17/22. No early closure due to weather. Please feel free to pickup your child if you have concerns about the weather.

A survey for parents regarding masks was posted in the news section and also sent via email. The link is also below. Please take a minute and give us your input. Thanks!

There has been another change to the boys state basketball tournament. Our game has been moved to Monday, Feb. 7 at 4:00. If we win game 1 we play again Tuesday and Friday.

The boys first round state basketball tournament game has been changed from Friday, Feb. 4th to Saturday, February 5th at 12:00. The game is being played at Okawville High School. Admission is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students (k-8). Let's Go Yankees!!

Good Afternoon Everyone! If you have tried to venture out today, you know that roads are not in good shape. Snow is still falling and it does not look like we will have roads cleared enough to safely get kids to school tomorrow. We will be cancelling school for Friday, February 4th. This will be a traditional snow day, not an e-learning day. I hope everyone stays safe, warm, and has a great weekend.

Good Afternoon! I hope you are all staying safe and warm. The predictions for tomorrow are still on target with heavy snow overnight. Because of this we are going to cancel school for tomorrow, Thursday, February 3rd. We will use our e-learning plan for tomorrow as well.

As you are all aware, there is a significant winter storm heading our way. This is one of the few times I can remember the weather forecasters saying it will definitely hit. The prediction is for ice, sleet, and then snow starting around 3am Wednesday.
We are switching to an e-learning day for tomorrow and will not be in attendance at the buildings.

Dear Parents,
To snow, or not to snow... that is the question! As of the weather reports today, there is uncertainty about where, when, or how much winter weather will impact us. There is 100% certainty that something is comming.
Our District is preparing, IF we need to, for a remote option on Wednesday and/or Thursday. On Tuesday, materials and technology will be sent home with our students.
The decision to cancel school will likely be made Wednesday morning, based on current predictions. Please start thinking about arrangements for your kiddos on those days. Also note that the notice on Channel 4 & 5 will say "Closed- snow day", but know that we will have a remote option for your child.
Our staff is getting plans together today and tomorrow. Your child's teachers should be in touch regarding their plans IF we need to be remote.
Keep your fingers crossed this is just a precaution and that we will see everyone here on Wednesday.
